NASCAR Hall of Famer Jack Ingram has been in the intensive care unit at Mission Hospital since his car accident last Sunday.

His family has been updating fans throughout the week on caringbridge.org. With the latest update his family has shared that they “couldn’t be happier” as he continues to recover.

His vitals look great, and his will to get to the next level of recovery is pretty amazing. Once is he able to go up to 24 hours without the ventilator for assistance, he can move to an actual room (and out of ICU).

Thank you all for your kindness. Be safe and warm.

The car Ingram was driving collided with a pick-up truck, which led to the accident. Ingram was traveling with two passengers, one whom was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while the other was unharmed.

Ingram  suffered five broken ribs, a collapsed lung, a puncture wound on his left side, internal bleeding and a damaged spleen that required surgery.

This is by far, the most positive update the family has provided since we learned of the crash. We continue to send thoughts and prayers to Ingram and his family and wish them well on his road to recovery.

We will continue to provide updates on Ingram’s status as they become available.
